MendelMax

• Guide/transmission :
X : Movement of the nozzle, with 4 pivots slippery (= zipper), achieved through 2 smooth stems oriented in a horizontal plane. Transmission is provided by system drive belt / gear / motor step-to-step.
On Y : movement of the plateau, with 4 pivots slippery (= zipper), achieved through 2 smooth rods, oriented in a horizontal plane. Transmission is provided by system drive belt / gear / motor step-to-step.
Z : Movement of the nozzle, with 2 pivots slippery (= zipper), made with 2 screws and 2 smooth rods. The transmission is ensured by the threaded system.
• Precision : This model is very accurate (0, 1 mm), because its structure is very stiff, which reduces vibrations considerably. Reinforcement plates are used to increase the rigidity of the system.
• Fixing : Standard bindings for profile are used, as well as reinforcement plates.
• Achievement : Installation is rather simple because this model consists of few parts. Reinforcing parts are machined to the milling machine.
• Motors : 4 Motors-not NEMA 17 to ensure the transmission and an engine down the wire into the nozzle (extrude).

• Accuracy : All guides are fixed by clamping. Vibration may cause loosening so a reduction in accuracy.
• Fixing : The MAP is provided by nuts and washers. RP stem clamps are used to tighten the frame.
• Achievement : This printer is auto-replicante : links and backup pieces are from a 3D printing. A large number of different connecting pieces.

• Precision : The structure is light and precise. But vibrations can cause the release of the system. Links and reinforcing of the Reprappro parts are from a 3D impression. We can also note that the support surface is reduced.
• Mounting : Fixing by prototyped parts. The Z drive may be bad as PIM of the threaded rod is carried out on one end. Bindings for the electronic card are available.
• Achievement : This printer is said to be self-replicating. Fasteners are from
3D printing. The other parts are standard elements.
